Photograph of an exterior view of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railway Depot, Nevada City, ca.1900. Railway tracks extend from the center in the foreground to the distant left. An automobile is parked to the left of the wooden depot at center. Two small, rectangular windows can be seen in the front wall of the structure which as an unusually wide shingled roof. A shed sits on the far right while a second, darker structure stands behind the first on the right. A porch supporting a large cylinder is attached to the second structure and a freight car labeled number sixty sits on tracks just to the left. Faint trees sit in the background. Picture file card reads "Depot of the Nevada Co. Narrow Gauge Railway, built in 1877. It is still operating with its freight cars in the northern mining camps".
