John Ball Jr. was also highlighted in the Valley Times on July 15, 1959 as a member of the Sherlock Holmes club, Baker Street Irregulars.
Photograph caption dated August 10, 1959 reads, "18,000 records. John Ball Jr., Encino, is Valley's No.1 record collector, has third largest collection in United States. His dog, Prince Strius Orion II, poses with him in front of portion of 18,000 discs. Balls holds very first record ever made -- the original, not a copy."
