Description
Annotation translation: "The natives build suspension bridges across the rivers using the roots [sic] of creepers. These often have to be suspended high in the trees, so that the low-point of the bridge does not touch the water, even in the rainy season, when the rivers are in flood." - "Vollbehr Art Postcards Cameroon." Note: Vorlage: Aquarell von Ernst Vollbehr. Note translation: The original was a water-colour by Ernst Vollbehr.
