Description
Annotation translation: "The natives build suspension bridges across the rivers using the roots [sic] of creepers. These often have to be suspended high in the trees, so that the low-point of the bridge does not touch the water, even in the rainy season, when the rivers are in flood." - "Vollbehr Art Postcards Cameroon." Annotation: "Die Eingeborenen bauen aus Lianenwurzeln Hängebrücken über die Flüsse. Diese müssen oft hoch in den Bäumen angebracht werden, damit der Mittelpunkt zur Regenzeit, wenn die Flüsse hoch angeschwollen sind, nicht ins Wasser taucht." - "Vollbehr Künstlerpostkarten 'Kamerun'."
