Description
A bust-length studio portrait of James De Barth Shorb, Junior as a young man, with his head turned slightly to the left. He is wearing a dark jacket and vest and has a fancy pin fastening his white shirt. He is clean-shaven with dark hair that is short along the sides and slightly longer and sticking up on top.
James De Barth Shorb, Jr. (1870-1907), also referred to as Bartie, was the second child and oldest son of James De Barth Shorb and his wife Maria de Jesus Wilson. "Taber" and "8 Montgomery Street, Opposite the Palace and Grand Hotels, San Francisco" printed below the image. Date range based on the years that I.W. Taber and later Taber Photographic were at the 8 Montgomery address, based on San Francisco directories.
