Clear Creek Camp, about 4,000 feet high in the Angeles National Forest and 10 miles north of La Can~ada, has been owned and operated by the Los Angeles city schools since 1925. Perched atop a mountain overlooking Clear Creek canyon, the complex of two dormitories, lodge-museum, staff quarters and dining room-kitchens houses one sixth grade class each week throughout the school year. Photograph caption dated August 3, 1955 reads, "Revive forest growth - Sue Cannady, Clear Creek camp counselor, holds two-year-old seedling while Cherry Young digs hole in Angeles Forest hillside for one of 50,000 trees Los Angeles city school youngsters have planted in area during 30-year camp program."; See images #00143017 through #00143019 for all photos in this series.
