Photograph caption dated December 9, 1959 reads, "It was autograph day at Studio City Rotary Club's noon luncheon at the Tahitian Restaurant when the speaker was the incomparable and lasting 'The Champ' Jack Dempsey, former world heavyweight boxing champion. Shown with pens in hand surrounding the seated Manassa Mauler, from left, are Abe Roth, veteran retired fight referee; Braven Dyer, noted newspaperman who emceed the event; Sam Roth, brother of Abe and program chairman, and club president Robert L. Kitchin (See Claude Newman Column)."
