Photograph caption dated May 8, 1957 reads "This kite's mere mite. One of smallest entries was submitted by George Voita, 7, who used spool of thread for string. There were also prizes for largest, highest flying and most Indian-like kites." The Mid-Valley YMCA's kite flying contest was held at Orcutt Park in Canoga Park.; See images #00144121 through #00144123 for all photos in this series.
