Photograph caption dated May 9, 1961 reads, "Donald Freed, former producer-director at the Valley Playhouse, will open the first non-profit repertory theater Friday at the Coronet Theatre with Joan Tompkins and James Logan appearing in Tennessee Williams' 'Summer and Smoke.'" The address for Coronet Theater is 366 N. La Cienega Blvd.
