Description
A panorama photograph of a group of attendees of the 29th annual Southern District Junior YBL (Young Buddhist League) Conference. Attendees are in either white, pink, or blue t-shirts except for the reverends kneeling in the front of the group. Attendees are also holding various handmade signs with names of cities and locations. The caption on the bottom of the photograph reads "39th Annual So. District / Jr YBL Conference, September 2, 1989." The Nishimura and Nagata Family Papers contains items relating to the history of the Pasadena Buddhist Church, including photos of events and groups associated with the church like the Pasadena Buddhist Women's Association, the Young Buddhist League (BL), various Buddhist Church conferences, Judo competitions, and Kendo competitions. Materials also relate to the incarceration of the Nagata family at the Heart Mountain incarceration camp in Cody, Wyoming and include photographs of the family.
