Description
The Gra-Y Club is part of the "four fronts" program developed by the YMCA which grew out of the Hi-Y Club created to help promote Christian character in high school boys through emphasis in speech skills, sportsmanship and scholastic achievement. The "four fronts" program included the Hi-Y Club for high school boys, Jr. Hi-Y Club for middle school children, Tri Hi-Y Club for girls, and the Gra-Y Club for grade school children.
Photograph caption dated April 9, 1957 reads "Getting into spirit of current ACS campaign are, from left, Bruce Clago, Burt Melcher, Steven Pine, Peter Leischman and Steven Reicher, with his father Mike Reicher."
