Photograph of Bacilla, an indian woman at 114 years of age, 1899. Sitting on the ground with her knees pulled up against her chest. She is covered with a blanket and wears a kerchief hat. The wall of a grass hut is visible behind her as is a large pot and clothing on the ground. As a child she carried brick for the building of Mission San Luis Rey.
