Description
Supplement to the Campi Phlegraei published in 1776. The supplement contains Sir William Hamilton's observations of the Mt. Vesuvius eruption in August 1779 as recorded in letters written to the Royal Society of London. The Supplement consists of 32 pages of text in English and French in parallel columns and five hand-colored plates of Mt. Vesuvius and lava, pumice or other emitted material.
