Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes.
Photograph caption dated June 9, 1965 reads, "This $50,000 Northridge home, known around its neighborhood as the 'Munster House,' is owned by Sam and Ethel Pepperman, and has been described in the State Assembly Daily Journal as 'a striking example of faulty construction.' Around this house a potential scandal may develop centering on improper construction methods." The article partially reads, "Patched in the front and crooked in the roof--but loaded with potential political dynamite--this home is at 9311 Bianca Ave., Northridge...From foundation to roof their house has been branded by building inspectors with an astonishing list of major Municipal Building Code violations, each of which was belatedly 'discovered' at different inspections, months and years after they were all officially inspected and approved by other authorized City Building Inspectors!"
