Removed from: History of Sacramento County, California : with illustrations descriptive of its scenery, residences, public buildings, fine blocks, and manufactories from original sketches by artists of the highest quality. Oakland, Cal. : Thompson & West, 1880. Opp. p. 62. Joseph Henry Glide was born in England in 1835. Emigrated to the United States, coming overland to California in 1857. Ran extensive stock business, eventually owning cattle ranches in Yolo County. He died in 1906.
