Description
Beirut: A 15-day waiting period for Palestinian refugees in relocation camps here have stretched into 25 years. Thousands of Palestinians, at request of Arab armies, left their homeland in 1948 so Arab troops could take over job of eliminating Jewish colonizers from Palestine. In this camp (T, '69 photo) which houses 7,000, not far from chic Beirut hotels, assorted objects on rooftops of huts keep the tin tops from blowing away. At bottom ('69 photo) Palestinian refugee youngsters play within confines of extreme poverty-striken environment in which they must also live in overcrowded refugee camps.
