Description
Thought for the day by Charles Handy on the drawbacks of having a life completely focused on work in the modern age. Handy begins the thought explaining how the idea of being a drag-coefficient was brought to his attention, and how the preference for being a singleton, unattached and living for one's work, has become preferable for many employees. He proceeds to discuss how being so narrowly focused on one's work, however, can cause one to lose perspective and develop tunnel vision. In this regard, Handy observes that having a partner, or drag-coefficient, enables him to maintain a broader perspective on life and develop a life away from work, and supports Genesis's view that people require a partner in this life.
