Photograph caption dated October 22, 1960 reads, "Thirty-four Valley State College custodians carry out the mock rescue of a co-worker at graduation exercises of a civil defense class teaching rescue training techniques and first aid. The graduation ceremonies were held Saturday atop Mr. Lee, between Hollywood and Burbank. Classes met on the college campus in Northridge."
