Photograph caption dated April 5, 1988 reads, "Enlightening: comedian Whoopi Goldberg is focus of photographers after lights went out at planned fund-raising and memorial service for National AIDS Quilt at Pauley Pavilion at UCLA. Short circuit caused power failure that abruptly plunged the crowd of about 5,000 into darkness. Services for 4,000 AIDS victims named on segments of quilt was rescheduled for tonight, when last night's tickets will be honored."
