Description
The "Listening Post" was staffed by Tustin American Legion members and was located in the middle of a bean field off Trabuco Road, between Jeffrey and Sand Canyon roads in Irvine. Around 2,500 volunteers staffed similar posts throughout Orange County, reporting all aircraft seen. The military took over the service in October, 1943.
