Photograph caption dated January 11, 1938 reads, "Walt Disney, creator of Mickey Mouse, on the witness stand today when he ... about charges of John P. Wade, writer of 'Mickey's Polo Club' was filmed from ..." Actor-Author John P. Wade wrote a skit called "The Trainer's Nightmare." When Wade saw "Mickey's Polo Team," he sued Disney for a share of the film's profits, claiming that Disney had plagiarized a scene that closely resembled one from "The Trainer's Nightmare"; the case was dismissed.
