Note: Als Nr. 45 publiziert im Album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuenburg 1895. - Bildlegende im Album: "Der Schutzgott Dente. - Am Ausgang der Stadt befindet sich unter einem Strohdach, das auf etlichen Pfosten ruht, der Fetisch Dente. Es ist eine mit weisser Erde bestrichene Erdscholle. Eine darauf gestellte Schüssel enthält die Eier und Feldfrüchte, die dem Gott geopfert werden. Es ist dies der Schutzgott der Stadt. Der Weg rechts führt auf die Station." (RI). - Cf. D-30.14.064.
Note translation: Published as no 45 in the album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuchâtel 1895. (RI). - Caption in the album: "The protective deity Dente. - At the exit of the town stands the Fetish Dente, sheltered by a thatched roof which rests on wooden sticks. It is a lump of earth covered with white soil. A bowl on the top is filled with eggs and fruit as a sacrifice for the god, the protective deity of the town. The path to the right leads to the mission station." - The French version speaks of "... un plat dans lequel ces pauvres gens dépensent leur offrande ...
