Photograph of an aerial view of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Sawtelle, April 1, 1928. The Soldiers Home is at center and is composed of a varied collection of buildings gathered along a curving road. A large number of trees is visible as well. In the foreground at left is a large rectangular building, possibly a hospital. Several large, open agricultural fields can be seen at right, while a high mountain range runs across the image in the background. Written on the back of the photoprint: "Roy S. Gilbert, 521 N. Atlantic, Alhambra Cal., 91801".
