Photograph caption dated June 9, 1965 reads "Los Angeles Angels' Fred Newman accomplishes rare feat last night at Chavez Ravine. Newman, shown on the mound last night, hurled a sparkling four-hitter at the Detroit Tigers as the Angels evened their record out at .500 again with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers. Newman is now 7-3 on the year."
