Description
Astronomer Nicholas Mayall, of the Lick Observatory, writes to EPH, answering a number of questions. He had planned to take a plate of the Comma Cluster with the 20-inch, but still has not. He has scheduled telescope time and as soon as the weather permits, will get plates. He affirms that they have plates for 5746 which show the direction of rotation. He is waiting to gather more data on the outer regions of M31 before publishing information. In addition to answering EPH's questions, he lists results for work he has been doing on nebular spectra and radial velocity, and notes he still has several dozen spectra yet to work on.
