Description
Image of a head-and-shoulders portrait of French opéra bouffe actor and singer Marie Aimée; with a date sheet for the December 8-9, [1884], show in Redmond's Grand Opera House in Grand Rapids, Michigan, pasted at the top of the image; the poster advertises the farce comedy "Mam'zelle" written by George Jessop and William Gill.
Probable date based on month and day in date sheet and general show history; Mam'zelle was first performed in 1884 and Aimée died in 1887. "Forbes Co. Boston & N.Y."--text, bottom right margin. "Redmond's Grand Opera House, / Two Nights Only / Monday and Tuesday, / Dec. 8, 9"--text, top margin. "Aimee in the / New English Comedy / 'Mam'zelle.'"--text, bottom margin. "Harold A. Perris / Of Lake George / Antiques"--text, circle logo stamped in blue ink on verso.
