Speaking beneath a Whittier College welcome banner on July 28, 1952, Senator Richard Nixon (arrow) told the crowds that "we are going to win" in November. The senator, home for the first time following his nomination, was cheered by thousands of hometown folks. He'll make his first campaign speech at Columbus, Ohio.
