Description
Chang Chia Chuan, East Kansu, the stronghold of Islam in South Eastern Kansu and headquarters of one branch of the Djahariah Order. Fourteen mosques minister to the needs of the people. On market day, which occurs every second day, people from miles around make the streets almost impassible, yet women are seldom seen at these times.
