Photographer: Margaret Willis. Plates in: Souvenir of the 1926 outing of the Sierra Club, Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Teton, [photograph album]. Plate [11] Group picture within overhand of cave. 2010-1530. Beginning in 1901, the Sierra Club held an annual outing, eventually known as the High Trip. Up until 1930, outings led by William Colby. In 1926, some 200 hikers trailed by pack animals and cooks, hiked into Yellowstone National Park. Hikers broke into small groups, exploring various different trails – album follows one small group. This small group also climbed the Grand Tetons once out of Yellowstone, before heading home.
