Home movies of Ursula Griswold Bingham. A rare glimpse of life in Berkeley, travels to Yosemite and boating in Monterey, CA in the mid to late 1930s.
Note with original container - "2340 Vine Street, Berkeley, California Reel 1 1937 - Benner Pool - Anne & Clare - September. Anner & Clare at above address. Salem 1938 - Harriet, Durglr (?), Adela jr, rolling with our girls. Er ?, Ad & Mrs. Gregor. June 1938 - John's Wedding, visit at Dellwood - Mr. Kisco showing Douglas Mc Clenahan on tricycle down drive, Dick [Mc Clenahan] in prep tent, views of garden south of house, Anne and Clare. Eire's Christening at Salem. Uncles with girls on shoulders. Farr Bingham, Anne & Clare picking flowers in the garden at Salem & walking to WB house. The Beach at Black Hall on a Sunday! Wyndhurst [Black hall on a Sunday!] Father, ?, dogs, Mother, sheep and again Father with pet (?) ram. At Stone house, fairies Anne, Clare, Ad Jr, + Dwight, also bridge fairy, escorted with parasol. Jumping fromt he rock into the water at BH [Black Hall] beach. D.T.B family- reunion August 1938. Sept 1938 Off to Yosemite, Anne Clare, WB+UWB. Yosemite Valley views, deer & bears. (drat ? the hood of car). Walk to Verna Falls with Merriam. Pack Train returning from High Sierra trip. Tour tent + views of Camp Curry . Calif. road near San Joaquin Valley as we drove along. Eire at 5 or 6 months in sun. No clothes! Benner Boat trip. Views of Bay and Golden Gate Bridges & Fairgrounds, San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Is. Catherine Caldwell, fishing boat + San Francisco. Fisherman's Wharf + boats- W.B. Mr? Stevenson. Ted Benner, C. Caldwell. Mrs Petrag (?), R. Benner, Mr. Petrag (?), Rosemary Thompson. WB, Anne + Clare, fishing nets at Monterey, Carmel surf + beach. Col. (?) cottage at Carmel. All taken New years' 1939."
