Original photograph has several ink stains. Photograph caption dated August 23, 1956 reads "Following preliminary preparations, this huge 'trencher' gouges deep, narrow trench into which 30-inch natural gas pipe will be placed. Behemoth, which weighs 18 tons, can dig a trench 21 feet deep." The article partially reads "A new multi-million dollar pipe-line will soon connect the San Fernando Valley directly to Texas natural gas fields.
