Description
Title supplied by cataloger. Typed caption on back: "After being successfully budded in the nursery rows, trees are tied to stakes to make them grow straight. These trees are two years old. Before being shipped for transplanting in permanent groves, the budded trees must be 'balled'. The foliage is first clipped off. The soil about the base is carefully excavated, And the trees with a 'ball' of eather about the roots lifted out. The ball is quickly wrapped in burlap securely tied with twine."
