Mrs. Billie Libeck, 21, and her husband Ben, a boilermaker, called a taxi to take them to Queen of Angels Hospital in preparation for the birth of their daughter. As the driver, Mrs. Esther C. Cain sped, it became apparent the cab would not outdistance the stork, so she parked at a service station and proceeded to aid the Libeck's deliver their baby girl - 7 pound, 3-ounce Elizabeth Ann Libeck. An ambulance arrived soon after, and carried mother and daughter to Queen of Angels Hospital, where both were pronounced healthy and safe. Photograph dated November 8, 1947.
