In 1973, Frank Robinson founded Robinson Helicopter Company, which employs about 1,200 employees. In addition to manufacturing helicopters, Robinson includes a research and development division, has an overhaul program to service older helicopters and offers educational courses for flight instructors and maintenance technicians.
One Robinson Helicopter Company employee trains another on how to assemble the main rotor gear box for an R44 helicopter.
