Description
Shown on July 14, 1944, are the placid closing time waters of the Riverside Pool, also known as the Land Park Plunge. The reconstituted masonite and plaster pool opened in May 1937 after 20,000 dollars were spent in improvements which were designed by W.E. Coffman. It was Coffman’s intent to construct an atmosphere that gave users the feel of being on a ship. In spite of a bevy of newfangled amenities, the tank itself – albeit cleaned and repainted – still resided within the structure that had been constructed in 1909.
