Photograph caption dated January 27, 1959 reads, "Van Nuys' stellar basketball performer, Jack Hirsch, literally takes giant stride on court Saturday afternoon when Wolves lost out to Fremont in thrilling quarter-finals of All-City playoffs. Hirsch is shown trying to stop loose ball from going out of bounds, but official Jim Gilliam says it's too late in action happening at Pan Pacific Auditorium."
