Written on photograph, K-1429-CV Kennett Division. Shasta Dam. Sacramento River flood damage. Remains of dairy herd belonging to Douglas Dairy near Redding, California. These cows drowned in waters which at this point during the peak of the flood were more than 10 feet deep. R. A. Midthun, Photo. march 2, 1940.
