Photograph of a large group people sitting on the steps and walls of an adobe building watching the long line of dozens of snake priests before the Kiva at the pueblo of Walpi, Arizona, ca.1897. The priests wear kilts with animal pelts hanging from them at back. Each priest has white feathers in his hair. The spectators include native Americans and white men alike.
