William I. Harlow was son of Missouri Methodist preacher, William I. Harlow, and brother of author, Frederic Pease Harlow. William was agent for Wells Fargo in Portland.
In May 1897, William, Austin, Fred Webber and Brad Hall took cycling trip to Aurora, Oregon. Went to Oregon City, followed railroad track to Canby, from Canby to Aurora.
