Photograph article dated March 1, 1962 partially reads, "For secret organizations, the Communist Party and the John Birch Society are remarkably easy to contact. The Communist Party is located in barren offices at 206 S. Spring St., Los Angeles. Its Southern California chairman is Mrs. Dorothy Healey... Mrs. Healey - A short, smiling brunette with a streak of gray hair, Mrs. Healey ('Call me Dorothy') lives in a small pink house in East Los Angeles. She said she has been chairman of the Communist Party in Southern California since 1950. She estimates present Communist Party strength at 1,000 dues-paying members in Southern California, down from the all-time high of 5,000 in 1949."; See images #00136635 through #00136637 for all photos in this series.
