Photograph caption dated May 26, 1948 reads, "'Old Man of the Mountains,' high above San Fernando Valley, in limelight again - 'Lost Monument' is located on ranch in Santa Susana Pass area; ancient stone has weathered well, except for plastic surgery on chin.'
