A crowd of people stand around a beach front property, bordered by railroad tracks on one side, rows of identical, single story housing on another, and a dirt road on a third. Cars, many with signs pasted on the back, fill a parking area next to the houses. In 1921 the Minneapolis-based firm of Dickinson & Gillespie billed this stretch of coastline as "The Last of the Beaches". Situated between Venice and Hermosa beaches, it is now part of Playa del Rey.
