Description
Image of a head-and-shoulders portrait of Italian actor Tommaso Salvini, in an oval frame decorated with a laurel wreath, centered between four vignettes of Salvini with male and female performers in historic costumes performing in scenes from three tragedies by William Shakespeare: Macbeth, Hamlet, and Othello, and the play "Ingomar, the Barbarian" by Maria Anne Lovell, and including Salvini holding a skull in a cemetery and wearing a fur cape as a tribesman with a Greek young woman holding a spear and shield.
