Description
A woman in dinner dress for October 1824. She stands with her back towards the viewer, looking over her shoulder, wearing a black and white turban style headdress with a fabric bow on the side. She wears jet teardrop earrings and a jet necklace. Her dress is black with a white, ruffled neck. The Juliet style sleeves have short black puffed sleeves over long white gauzy sleeves and ruffled cuffs. A black sash around her waist ties into a bow in the back. Three-quarters down the skirt, two rows of black fabric bows gather swags of fabric at even intervals. There are three rolled bands around the hem. She wears black shoes.
