Gonzales claimed that after he ordered Hernandez and Mendoza to leave, they returned with the other suspects and Virginia Morales. A melee ensued which lead to the shooting death of Felix Miramonte, 15, and the injuries of Marco Cano, 17, and Edmond A. Mendoza, 17. Photograph dated November 23, 1942.
