Description
Frau Valborg "Mama" Gravander earned the "Mama" nickname originally when she ran her big house Svegaard on Pacific Ave., SF and sheltered hundreds of young talented people, over 20 odd years, who lived and worked there. She lived in M.V. for over 30 years and taught many to spin and weave. She died January 11, 1977 at age 89.
