Description
At the time a specific temae was developed to serve tea to a noble person (kinin), it was decided that all utensils, but especially the teabowl, should be used for the very first time. Since the kinin teabowl and the plain wood stand on which it sits are used only once, they tend to be rather plain in appearance. Note the resemblance to very highly prized Chinese teamaker bowls and stands.
