Description
Ron Chernow discusses his biography of the life of John D. Rockefeller, “Titan.” He begins by describing the early life of Rockefeller and how his father was a conman and a bigamist. He talks about how Rockefeller worked on oil transports for the railroad and was often included in secret deals and business meetings. He describes how Rockefeller started Standard Oil Company, and bought out 90% of his competitors while he was still in his 30s. Chernow talks about how Rockefeller acted as a husband, businessman, friend, and a father. He ends the interview by describing other books he has written on powerful men, and how their life stories all differ.
