Correspondence and memoranda in support of the Independent Commission on the Los Angeles Police Department (2 of 2), 1976 - 1991 May 17. PART OF A SERIES: The series relates to the work product of Sibley & Austin, whose staff contributed to the Commission's probe of excessive force allegations brought against the LAPD. Included in the series are memoranda, witness testimonies, interview summaries, copies of officers' background files, after-action summaries and reports, and notes taken by the firm. Materials relate to four major areas of study undertaken by the firm: the Justice for Janitors labor demonstration of 1990, the jail ward of County/USC Medical Center, Los Angeles city jails, and a review of the LAPD's Background Investigation Unit.
