Description
Connie and Candi begin the interview discussing Candi’s background and her sister’s lives singing touring for a gospel group. They proceed to discuss Candi’s treatment in that group and the health concerns that brought about an intervention of the LAPD before moving on to discuss Candi’s recording career, experiences with alcoholism, and the chitlin circuit. Connie asks Candi to sing Stand By Your Man and they move on to talk about Candi’s abusive relationships and the loneliness of being on the road. Connie and Candi go on to talk about her experiences with PTL, her music being racially categorized, and her current husband’s difference, before Candi sings her new song, Mama. They move on to discuss Candi’s current projects, and Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
